Deforestation occurs at a high rate in Malawi and the consequences are significant. Protecting forests is crucial as they absorb CO2, prevent drought and flooding, enrich the soil, and provide income. In collaboration with the local organisation Go Green and focusing on the Mandezu Community, the project aims to plant trees and develop communities for a green and just future.

Everyday waste is thrown and left unhandled in the streets of Nkhata Bay. This is a threat to the biodiversity, health of the population and even the climate. Collaborating with Go Green, Yefcot, District Environmental Office, the purpose of the project is to increase waste management and thereby make Nkhata Bay the cleanest town in Malawi.

This project works with sustainable income generating activities aiming for a greener environment while also creating new work opportunities for the local community. The activities include sustainable briquettes, glass recycling and biogas system.

Malawi has one of the lowest CO2 emissions, yet its people are severely impacted by climate change. Many young Malawians lack awareness of climate injustices. This training aims to educate youth to support and empower them in the fight for climate justice, ensuring Malawian/African voices are heard and creating role models for the next generation.

The youth of Malawi experiences a digital divide, as only a minority has access to computers and has computer literacy skills. Competences that are crucial for the youth to learn and take action for sustainable development, climate change and climate justice. This course offers free ICT training with experienced teachers and free computers and WiFi.
